Martin E. Zimmerman
President and Chief Executive Officer
Marty Zimmerman is President and Chief Executive Officer of LFC Capital, Inc., which he founded in 1994. He has more than 40 years of experience in healthcare financing and global capital markets transactions.
Before starting LFC Capital, Mr. Zimmerman founded The LINC Group, Inc., in 1975, and built it into the largest independent lessor in the healthcare industry, financing over $1 billion in equipment assets. In 1988, LINC doubled its size by merging with Scientific Leasing, Inc., an American Stock Exchange listed company, with assets of more than $300 million. In 1994, LINC sold its medical leasing division to Anthem Insurance, and Mr. Zimmerman was named CEO and Director in new LINC Anthem, Inc. He began LFC Capital to acquire LINC’s healthcare leasing portfolio at the time of its sale to Anthem and commencing managing LFC full time in 2000.
Mr. Zimmerman received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance from Columbia Graduate School of Business, where he was a McKinsey Scholar. Later, he became a member of the Business School’s Board of Overseers and serves on the Board of the Eugene Lang Fund for Entrepreneurship. He is also a trustee of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and a member of the Council for the Arts at MIT.
Mr. Zimmerman was a trustee of the 300-bed Ravenswood Hospital Medical Center in Chicago for ten years, and was chairman of its finance committee. He is also a past director of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association. Earlier, Mr. Zimmerman served in the U.S. Army Ordinance Corps, where he was a quality assurance officer and a member of the U.S. Army Weapons Command Pistol Team. He completed his military duty as a Captain.
